The UAL Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at City Lit is an exciting and challenging multi-disciplinary art, design, craft and media programme. For those with some previous ceramic experience wishing to work towards their own goals, or suitable for beginners who wish to learn hand-building and throwing processes, as well as surface decoration and glazing.

A group cello class for those who have been playing for at least four years, and are at least Grade 5 standard. You will explore solo and ensemble repertoire, play in all clefs and in positions including thumb position. This course is offered every term. Break week 28th October 2025.

For experienced classical guitar players. Practise scales and arpeggios at grade 7 and 8, and fingerstyle versions of Baroque, Latin and contemporary music.

If you are already experienced in recorder ensemble playing, join this small, friendly group to develop your ensemble skills playing Renaissance, Baroque and contemporary music. Break week: 28 May 2025.

Develop your own ideas in painting with reference to the work of contemporary artists and experimental processes on this higher level course. Ideal for students who have completed Painting 2 or Painting 3 or equivalent painting courses.

For those with some previous experience wishing to work towards personal goals with tuition and guidance. Throwing and hand-building processes will be taught alongside glazing and surface decoration throughout the course.
