Advanced Craft & Design Courses

This area of the Centre for Advanced Practice is home to our advanced courses in craft and 3D design specialisms. This rich mix of courses covers a wide range of creative methods across several disciplines, from traditional craft techniques and hand skills that are hundreds or even thousands of years old, to contemporary and/or experimental digitally assisted and manufacturing processes.

All our courses in the area of Advanced Craft and Design are taught by professional creative practitioners, with extensive experience in the spheres of commercial design and craft-based disciplines, many of whom enjoy international an reputation within their individual specialisms. All our Craft and Design courses culminate in a public exhibition.

With small group sizes, well-equipped workshops and an online learning environment supporting every course, there is a strong emphasis on group learning, engagement and debate, and on peer feedback and support. Alongside a solid grounding in historical and contemporary contexts, and a range of cultural references and perspectives, these courses offer the best possible environment and experience to develop your advanced creative practice.
