Skills for Life

Develop the skills you need to participate fully in modern life, make progress at work and express yourself with confidence.

Whether you are a cleaner or a junior manager, office or construction worker, beginner or advanced level, our courses will help you develop the most in-demand workplace skills and at same time improve your general communication, English, ESOL, Data Literacy, Maths and Digital Skills. Our courses will also improve your skills and competences for life outside work from going to the doctors and filling out forms to talking about politics and discussing art.

Inside and outside work, in all types of jobs, at all levels, adults need to be problem-solvers, analysers, decision-makers, team-players, to see the bigger picture and be detail-oriented. Join our courses, online or face-to-face, and develop these universal essentials skills with our motivating, innovative and professional tutors.

    Are you a non-native fluent speaker who wants to improve your pronunciation of English and to speak the language more clearly and confidently?   5. Business Administration (with digital skills): English communication skills for administrators and office workers (level 1-2)

    Do you need to develop your English skills for working in an office and communicating effectively as an administrator? This course will help you become a confident, flexible and successful communicator in writing, face-to-face, on the phone and digitally such as via emails and cloud-based software. You will work on the correct language for written documents and spoken interactions to colleagues, customers, in meetings and answering the phone. You will focus on different levels of formal and informal communication and how to speak and write clearly and concisely, with appropriate tone e.g. in emails and letters on a PC. You will also work on how to lay out key documents, spell well and punctuate correctly. By the end of this course, you will confident you can work successfully in an office environment.

  6. ESOL and singing: sing your way to better English (entry 3 - level 2)

    Are you learning English? Do you enjoy singing? Why not combine the two? Singing is an excellent way to develop your English. You will improve your vocabulary, listening, reading, pronunciation and fluency. You do not need to be a good singer to do this course. The focus will be on using songs to develop your pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and reading.

    Are you already a competent administrator, who is now looking to take on more responsibility and take your skills to the next level? Then this course will help you. On this course, you will develop your communication skills so you can become a confident lead administrator in any business environment both in relation to customers, colleagues and managers. You will work on communication skills in writing, speech (face-to-face and on the phone) and across digital platforms. You will work on producing documents such as reports, proposal and finance documents to a high standard, as well as meeting agendas, minutes and action plans. You will also work on communication skills within meetings and how to manage and coach direct reports. By the end of this course, you will be an authoritative communicator confident you can work successfully as an administrator in any business environment.
