Italian 3 lower is our course for learners in their fourth year of Italian, so it's meant for intermediate learners who are at CEFR level B1. Italian 3 lower comes after Italian beginners, Italian 2 lower and then Italian 2 upper. You'll improve your intermediate Italian on this communicative course through speaking and listening activities, so the emphasis is on developing your oral skills, but you'll continue to learn more complex grammar and expand your vocabulary.

Italian 2 upper is our third-year Italian course, so this year you'll be progressing through lower intermediate Italian towards intermediate. You'll find yourself learning new ways to express yourself more accurately and confidently. The emphasis is on the development of your oral skills. Suitable if you have completed 'Italian 2 lower', or have studied Italian for about 2 years. Based on Nuovo Espresso 2 (Alma Edizioni, Italian version).

An opportunity to gain an A-level qualification in one year. You will study topics on the society, history and culture of contemporary Italy and will develop relevant exam skills. Suitable if you have studied Italian for about five years. The course fee includes non-refundable exam costs payable in advance and is payable in instalments. This course is a popular choice for learners who feel they will benefit from the discipline of an exam course, knowing that they have a clear goal in sight at the end of the course.







IMPORTANT:







This course will be delivered online. However, a mock exam will be held in late February or early March at our central London college. You will therefore need to make sure that you make the necessary arrangements so that you can attend. The exact dates will be posted when the mock exam has been set up.







The official exams will also take place at our Covent Garden college during the months of May and June (exact dates to be confirmed). Please note that the end date of the course may change depending on when the official exams are scheduled.

**City Lit is an adult education college, so we are only able to accept candidates who are aged 19 or over.

Do you want to start learning Italian but worry that you might not be able to keep up? Our Italian at a gentle pace courses are designed to cover the same material as our standard Italian courses, but at a slightly slower pace, and with more opportunities for revision built in.

This course for beginners is suitable if you already speak a Romance language such as Spanish, French, Portuguese or Romanian. It might also be suitable if you would like to learn at a much faster pace. This course, together with Italian rapidamente: module 2 and Italian rapidamente: module 3 covers years one and two (Italian 1 and Italian 2 Lower) of our Italian programme. Expect more homework than in other courses.

A revision course for learners at an upper intermediate level who wish to brush up on the grammar and vocabulary they’ve covered so far on their Italian learning journey. If you feel like you could do with another look at some key grammar points, perhaps from a different angle, this course should get you feeling more confident about your grasp of Italian grammar. You'll also have opportunities to practise your speaking and listening skills to improve your fluency.

Italian 2 lower: module 1 is the first module of second-year Italian, and you'll find yourself communicating with increasing confidence. Italian 2 lower at a gentle pace will cover the same language points as the standard Italian 2 lower course, but with slightly longer lesson times there will be more time to go over topics a bit more slowly. The emphasis is on developing your oral skills, but you will still be working on your reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary. Suitable if you have completed 'Italian beginners' or equivalent. This course follows the A-level syllabus and is suitable for those who would like to progress in Italian in a structured way. The course does not lead to the exam but aims to prepare you to join the Italian A Level course next year. Ideally you should have taken GCSE Italian (having achieved a grade 7, 8 or 9) or have equivalent upper intermediate knowledge. The course is divided into three parts (parts 2 and 3 will take place in term 2 and 3).
