What is the course about?

You will learn to communicate at basic level in spoken Japanese, build up your basic knowledge and extend your range of vocabulary.

What will we cover?

Topics: Daily routine and free time (weekend or holiday), describing things or people, family, useful daily expressions, months, day of the week

Language points: Interrogative form, present and past form of basic verbs, objects nouns
Possesive, adjectives
culture: cultural points around Japanese way of living.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

Ask for information at various public places.
Talk about your routines or make plans using dates
Talk about your last weekend or holiday
Talk about yours and others’ family members
Describing things or people
Recognizing some street signs and find your ways in Japan
Understanding some aspects of Japanese way of life.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Near beginners - It is essential to have basic knowledge of Japanese grammar such as knowing how to ask questions and some particles, name of common places and objects, numbers, time and counters.
You need to have done about 3 month of Japanese.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

Our courses are characterised by spoken interaction and communication. Typical activities include pair work, group work, role plays and games. A range of resources will be used to support your learning including presentations, hand-outs, and audio-visual material.
Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning.
