Learn Swahili at City Lit in London and Online

Swahili is widely spoken across east and south-east Africa in countries including Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Although there are many Arabic influences in the vocabulary, Swahili actually uses the Latin script.

At City Lit we offer courses to help you learn to speak, understand, read and write Swahili. This is done through a through communicative approach which emphasises active interaction and classroom participation to help you grasp the language quickly.

Many of our courses are delivered online. For more information about our live online courses, please see our guide to online learning.

Browse our courses below and choose from a range of classes either during the daytime, evening and on weekends.
