Do you want to continue learning French but worried that you might not be able to keep up? Our French at a gentle pace courses are designed to cover the same material as our standard French courses, but at a slightly slower pace, and with more opportunities for revision built in.

Come and join these small group conversation classes. Perfect to practise and consolidate your spoken French in a friendly environment.

The course is an introduction to the relation between French literature and ideological, political and social discourse in France, from postcolonialism and feminism in the 20th century to the relationship between sociology and literature. The course will also explore contemporary genres of French writing such as autofiction and documentary-fiction.

Designed for fluent non- native students and all who have completed 'English Pronunciation' stages 1 and 2. Conversation and the reading aloud of a variety of texts will help to pinpoint those pronunciation worries still to be addressed.



This course will be taught online.

Rendez-vous mensuels les Notez qu'il y a un autre 'reading group' similaire, décalé d'une semaine tout au long de l'année, au cas où les dates vous convienndrez mieux. The aim of the course is to further improve your ability to communicate confidently and clearly in spoken English. Designed for people who have completed ‘English Pronunciation: stage 1’ although new students with sufficient skills can join. Develop confidence and clarity, explore diphthongs and triphthongs, inflection and the rhythms of Standard English. This term the course will be taught online.

Practise and consolidate your intermediate spoken French in the heart of London and develop your language skills in these topical discussion classes. Based on recordings from French television, radio news and newspaper articles. Please note that this course takes place every other week.

An opportunity to gain an A-level qualification in one year. You will study topics on the society, history and culture of contemporary France and will develop relevant exam skills. Suitable if you have studied French for about five years. The course fee includes non-refundable exam costs payable in advance and is payable in instalments.







This course will be delivered online. However, a mock exam will take place on a Saturday in February 2026 (date TBC) at our central London college. You will therefore need to make sure that you make the necessary arrangements so that you can attend on that date.







The official exams will also take place at our Covent Garden college during the months of May and June (exact dates to be confirmed).







* Please note that, subject to government guidance, we might need to implement a contingency plan to be followed in the event of exam cancellations.

Ce cours de niveau très avancé vous prépare pour les examens en juin 2025 du 'Diplôme approfondi en langue française' (DALF), niveau C2. Vous pouvez arranger un interview. Pour cela, contacter languages : languages@citylit.ac.uk.

This online course will prepare you for the exam of the 'Diplôme d'études en langue française' (DELF), B2 level, in June 2025. Suitable if you have studied French for about four to five years. Ideal if you would like to live, study or work in France.







Please note that exam fees are not included in the advertised fees. The course can be paid in instalments.
