What is the course about?
This is an accelerated beginners course in digitally developing 3D design ideas using the accessible professional software SketchUp Pro. Learn how to use the software to create engaging and exciting perspective drawings. It is ideal for planning interior design projects and proposals, but can also be used for modelling objects and outdoor spaces. The SketchUp Pro 7 software is an invaluable tool for both professional and domestic use.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This is for beginners of SketchUp pro but you should have a good understanding of how to open, copy and save files in a computer. You should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions, demonstrations, hand-outs and health and safety information, and will be invited to take part in group discussion. You should be able to use numbers and be able to do simple measurements and calculations.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
You will be taught using a range of techniques including workshops, short lectures, demonstrations, practical exercises, tutorials, group and individual assistance and hand-outs. Please note the City Lit uses Apple Mac computers in the Design studio.
Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?
You need to purchase a USB memory stick of at least 2GB to back up and store your data. Other basic materials will be provided.
