We explore a careful selection of novels, in a variety of genres, that display the skill and virtuosity of  renowned mid-20th century Italian writers, including Natalia Ginzburg, Italo Calvino,  Giuseppe di Lampedusa and Lalla Romano. These works have withstood the test of time and are recognised as modern classics.   

This exploration will enhance our understanding (and enjoyment) of the lovely art of ancient Greece. Insights gained are applicable to art appreciation generally. No prior knowledge of Greek philosophy, drama or Greek art is required. Your own thoughts and insights are central.

Continue to study Latin grammar and improve your skills at reading and translating Latin texts as well as exploring Roman culture and history.

The upper intermediate Italian course will see you continue to improve your grammar and vocabulary skills at a strong intermediate level. You'll be working through Nuovo Espresso 3 with your tutor.
