Develop your lipreading skills and strategies for face-to-face communication and keep up-to-date with relevant equipment and services. This course is suitable if you have a basic understanding of lipreading consonant and vowel theory, can finger spell and have also either completed beginners modules 1, 2 and 3 or have completed a year’s lipreading classes in the past and want to re-join a course.







This course will be taught in spoken English and not in sign language.

This class is suitable for total beginners who have little or no experience of lipreading or who have completed a lipreading class at any level in the past, but want to go back to basics. You will learn how to recognise some sounds that are visible on the lips and how to use other tactics to support lipreading and how to manage hearing loss.

This class is suitable for if you have completed beginners modules 1 and 2 or have completed a lipreading class in the past and already have a basic understanding of lipreading theory and fingerspelling. You will develop your lipreading and fingerspelling skills and build your confidence.

This class is suitable for if you have completed module 1 or have completed the one term introduction to lipreading class or have attended a lipreading class at any level in the past, but want to go back to basics. You will develop your lipreading and fingerspelling skills and build your confidence.

Speaking in front of a group can often feel daunting. This course will give you lots of opportunities to practise speaking in front of a supportive group. Discover your own unique power, confidence and speaking style and learn how to connect with your listeners. Develop strategies for managing your nerves before and during public speaking tasks. Get supportive and constructive feedback from the group and course tutor.



Specifically for people who stammer/stutter or clutter.

Develop your lipreading skills and strategies for face-to-face communication and keep up-to-date with relevant equipment and services. This course is suitable if you have completed improvers module 1.







This course will be taught in spoken English and not in sign language.

This course will most benefit students who experience cluttering. Some features of cluttering are:







• Speaking quickly, often with rapid bursts of speech



• Some words being unclear or mis-pronounced



• Difficulties in explaining and conveying sequences of information



• Difficulties in being understood by the listener







Cluttering can be present as the only communication challenge or alongside stammering, dyslexia and/or ADHD (formal diagnosis is not required).







This course will provide you with skills to become more aware and knowledgeable of your voice and speech. The course will also explore ways to develop effective listening and communication strategies.

This course introduces learners to Deaf history, highlighting important dates, time periods, and events that have influenced the Deaf community. Learners will gain a basic understanding of key historical events and cultural achievements. They will also learn to identify dates, follow timelines, and connect these dates to important events in Deaf history.

Become knowledgeable about your own voice as an instrument and gain insights into how you currently use and relate to it. Identify what you like about your voice in a safe place to play with possibilities. Get to know your voice through engaging in creative, experiential voice work.







Designed specifically for people who stammer/stutter, this course places no interest or importance on fluency. Instead, it will introduce concepts and practical opportunities to cultivate skills to experience speaking in flow.
