For 20 years Sarah has been teaching people who do not usually have access to yoga. She is the leader in the field of yoga for deaf people. She also works with people recovering from, or living with, specific physical and emotional health issues (including those living with dementia) through delivery of Chair Yoga classes across Westminster and K & C, and at Triyoga. Sarah qualified as an Inner Yoga Trust and British Wheel of Yoga registered teacher / practitioner. She danced from the age of four, and was first moved by Yoga when she was 16, though it has not always been easy for her to access as she is partially deaf. She has taught Deaf Yoga classes for staff members at DCAL (Deafness Cognition & Language Research Centre), Deaf Plus, Sign Health, DeafWorks, Oak Lodge School, Remark!, Special Yoga Centre, Sense and the Deaf Multilingual Community Service. Sarah’s yoga is an expression of and has evolved from her understanding of the teachings and a mix of Scaravelli informed, Iyengar and Satyanada Yoga. Her practice as a teacher responds to sensory, physical and mental /emotional needs. sarah.scott@citylit.ac.uk
