Why City Lit?
Join tens of thousands of students from London and the rest of the UK in taking a course with City Lit. From art & design to the humanities, performing arts to health and wellbeing, our extensive course range allows everyone to realise their ambitions and inspire their passions.
London’s Largest provider of short courses
With over 5000 courses on offer, City Lit is one of London’s largest providers of courses. Our classes take place during the day, in the evenings and at weekends, to make sure there’s a time which works for you.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, our courses have taken place both in-person and online – so people living outside of London can also access the outstanding teaching City Lit has to offer.
Our campus and facilities
City Lit is situated right in the cultural heart of London in the world-famous Covent Garden. This central location is an ideal commute for Londoners (and a pretty sight if you want to have a walk round before your class!)
Our bright, modern building on Keeley Street offers a huge range of facilities and our specialist Photography and Health and Wellbeing Centres are located just round the corner.

Great value for money
City Lit courses are available at range of affordable prices. Courses start from as little as £10 for one-off session or taster class. Some courses in our Skills for Life & Work school or within our Free Courses For Jobs provision, are also free. These help our students get qualifications that can help set them up for future employment.
Our 1-to-2 year courses are also significantly less expensive than a standard undergraduate year at university, whilst still providing you with top quality training.

High quality of teaching
City Lit prides itself on the high quality of teaching that we provide. Our tutors are experts in their field, often balancing teaching their courses with working in their profession.
In an Ofsted inspection in May 2023, the quality of education at City Lit was deemed to be ‘outstanding’.
A welcoming community
Part of what makes City Lit such a special and vibrant place is the student community. City Lit is open to all adults above the age of 19.
People from all walks of life enter through our doors every day and we relish being a place that people can come to feel welcomed and appreciated. We find that our students thrive and succeed as a result, allowing them to learn new things and make close friends.
Everyone is welcome at City Lit!
