Jewellery making courses in London

Taught by a team of expert jewellery tutors, we offer a diverse range of jewellery design and making courses. Take your pick from introductory courses for those who want to learn how to make a ring through to more specialist courses that focus on techniques such as engraving, electroforming, CAD/CAM, wax carving, casting, grain setting, technical drawing, resin, beading and much more.

Our purpose-built studio provides access to industry standard equipment with good natural light and all courses have basic materials provided. Please read the full course outline before you book as the tutor will list anything you need to bring along.

  1. Introduction to beaded jewellery

  2. Engraving: curved surfaces and lettering scripts

    Have you tried out engraving and would like to improve your existing skills? Increase your accuracy and consistency by focusing on small images that will be repeated on flat and curved surface. Learn to apply 1-2 types of scripts and the additional usage of tools to elevate your designs. This course is for intermediate and advanced jewellery students.

  3. Introduction to stone setting: raised grain setting

    Grain setting, sometimes referred to as bead setting, is a technique where small faceted stones are held in place by small prongs called beads. These are raised from the metal in the band using an engraving tool. This specialist technique builds on the basic stone setting methods, introducing the use of a new set of tools and skills and is perfect for those wishing to take their stone-setting to a higher level.

  4. Drawing for jewellers

    Are you a jewellery maker who wants to become more confident in drawing? Join us on this two-session long evening class and learn how to sketch jewellery. Draw designs from different angles and add colour, shading and highlights. Learn to make a simple plan drawing (technical drawing), showing your design from the top, front and side view.

  5. Jewellery making: cold connections
