What is the course about?

This course is about science basics for people with learning disabilities, approaching the subject by making, experimenting, discussing, and researching general science subjects.

What will we cover?

We will explore subjects such as geometry, astronomy, climate science, electricity and subjects decided upon by the students. We will also use apps to explore digital graphics and audio using computers.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

By the end of the course you should be able to: learn about what science attempts to find out about the world and how it does this. You will measure, discover the properties of shapes and things around us, and record and discuss what you have discovered.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This course is suitable for all levels of learners-the only requirement is that you have an interest in the subject.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

You will be taught by explanation, demonstration, and helped on a one to one basis. We will also do group projects and work in pairs. We will visit exhibitions locally, such as the Wellcome collection.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

There are no extra costs. You might want to bring a notebook if you want to.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

Students often return to the course as we explore different subjects each year.
