What is the course about?

Increased fluency in translating the Bible.

What will we cover?

Texts from the Pentateuch and some Psalms.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

understand and translate Biblical Hebrew at an improved level.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

You need to have done Biblical Hebrew Levels 1-3 or equivalent.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

The class will translate and discuss the texts being read; students are expected to prepare the text beforehand.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

Texts will be provided by the tutor and students should bring them and a biblical grammar to class.

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

Continue with Advanced Hebrew.

Go ahead and book yourself in so long as you have a fairly sound grasp of Hebrew Grammar to start with. You will enjoy group class translation as you take turns on verses.

The teacher is fantastic. She has a very deep knowledge of the Bible and viewpoints and is able to help every student to progress by her sensitive and perceptive style. A great mix of reading and grammar.
