Courses leading to a qualification

Interested in teaching lipreading to adults? This introductory course leads to the City and Guilds Level 3 national teaching qualification. Combined with our GT106, you can become a qualified lipreading teacher.

A demanding course preparing you for the A-level exam (Edexcel). You will need to have studied Spanish for about four years or have an equivalent level to join this course (B2).



At the end of this course, you will sit an exam and, if successful, will gain a nationally recognised qualification. Exam costs are included in the fee and are not refundable.







**City Lit is an adult education college, so we are only able to accept candidates who are aged 19 or over.







This course will be delivered online. Please see the "How will I be taught" section for term dates. A mock exam will take place in on 28/02/2026 at our Covent Garden college. You will therefore need to make sure that you make the necessary arrangements so that you can attend in person on that date.







The official exams will also take place at our Covent Garden college during the months of May and June 2026.

An opportunity to gain an A-level qualification in one year. You will study topics on the society, history and culture of contemporary France and will develop relevant exam skills. Suitable if you have studied French for about five years. The course fee includes non-refundable exam costs payable in advance and is payable in instalments.







This course will be delivered online. However, a mock exam will take place on a Saturday in February 2026 (date TBC) at our central London college. You will therefore need to make sure that you make the necessary arrangements so that you can attend on that date.







The official exams will also take place at our Covent Garden college during the months of May and June (exact dates to be confirmed).







* Please note that, subject to government guidance, we might need to implement a contingency plan to be followed in the event of exam cancellations.







Term 1: 30/09/2025 - 09/12/2025



Term 2: 13/01/2026 - 31/03/2026



Term 3: 21/04/2026 - 16/06/2026.

The Level 3 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Advanced) will give you exceptional proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software, and will improve your productivity in using IT. You will gain all the skills you need to work at the highest level in an office environment. The Advanced Learner Loan is available for this course.

The course fee is £1200.00. If you are unable to pay this upfront, you can choose to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan from Student Finance England (SFE) to help cover the course fee, repayable after the course ends. A deposit of £200.00 is also payable to secure your place (refundable after you complete the course).
