In this short, fast paced, practical course you will learn some advanced techniques to create professional looking drawn and cut-out animation using Adobe Animate CC.

What is the course about?

This course serves as a follow-on to those that have taken the Animate Level 1 at CityLit, or those with an understanding of the basics of the program. We’ll dive under the surface of Animate CC to look at some more advanced techniques and workflows for animating characters and scenes.

What will we cover?

-Workflows for animating characters walking and talking
-Using the Bone tool to rig a character with Inverse Kinetics
-Using the Graph Editor to control easing in and out. and keyframe interpolation
-Camera Animation and Layer Depth
-Different methods for exporting your work with and basic compositing in After Effects.

What will I achieve?
By the end of this course you should be able to...

- understand workflows for animating characters walking and talking
- understand how to rig a character using the Bone tool
- use the Graph Editor to control easing in and out between keyframes
- Create and animate a Camera and Layer Depth
- Export in different formats and do some basic compositing of your work in After Effects.

What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

This is an intermediate course and is ideally suited to those who have completed Animate Level 1 at CityLit or anyone with previous experience of the software and a good understanding of the basics who want to advance their skills.

How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

You will be taught using a range of techniques including workshops, short lectures, demonstrations, tutorials, group and individual assistance and hand-outs. Please note the City Lit uses Apple Mac computers in Animation and film making.

Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

The latest professional equipment and software are available for your use throughout the course. It would be useful to bring a memory stick (or portable hard drive – please note PC formatted hard drives can be read by Apple mac computers, but not written to.).

When I've finished, what course can I do next?

You can develop your skills in Animation further in VK413 City Lit Animation course or VK108 Advanced animation City Lit offer a range of courses in 2D and 3D Animation, Adobe Animate, Adobe After Effects, Character animation, editing, sound, illustration, cartooning, storyboarding and adobe Photoshop to enhance your animation practice..
