This exciting course covers information about the history of the Deaf community, education, media and sport to a more advanced and in depth level. It is taught in BSL, and hearing people with a minimum of level 2 in BSL are welcome.

Develop your personal effectiveness by looking at voice and body language, assertiveness, sensitive listening, interviewing techniques and communication skills for business meetings. This course will be taught online.

If you have already completed some therapy either at City Lit or elsewhere, this workshop offers you the ideal opportunity to revise what you’ve learnt so far, practise your speech techniques and to become more open about, and desensitised to, stammering.

Do tables in Word seem to move of their own accord? Do you need to produce newsletters for work or for volunteer groups but are frustrated by shifting text and images? Are you unsure how to maintain consistent formatting across a report? If so, then this is the course for you. On this course you will learn how to produce a newsletter, insert tables, and create simple reports while maintaining consistent formatting and ensuring the layout and presentation is effective and impacting. You will focus on how to produce attractive documents fit for purpose in an efficient and timely manner, vital skills both inside and outside work.

Learning how to handle money is very important in life. It doesn't matter how old you are - it's always a good time to get better at it. During this course you will explore different ways of managing your money so you can reach your goals, deal with unexpected stuff, and feel good about having enough money. We'll make it fun and interesting to learn about money. By the end, you'll understand why having a budget is important, how to keep track of what you spend, be ready for bills, and even plan for big things like a holiday or buying a home.
