Italian is a widely spoken language with around 65 million speakers. It has extensive influence in the world of art, music and cookery so learning to speak Italian will open up your world to some amazing authentic experiences.

Learning Italian is considered to be easy for native English speakers. That's because Italian has a simpler grammar and sentence structure. You will also recognise that there are some everyday English words of Italian origin, such as 'piano', 'cappuccino', 'gallery', and 'umbrella'.

    With proceeds going to the City Lit Student Bursary, the Italian Film Night is a chance to round out the term with a fun movie night in the college. The film will be presented by Francesco Bucciol, head of the Classics department and our Italian GCSE and A Level tutor. Francesco will also lead a discussion after the film.







    For this term's Italian film night, we will be showing and discussing excerpts from a classic (perhaps THE classic) Italian film, La Dolce Vita.

About the City Lit School of Languages

Language courses at all levels and in 19 different languages are offered at City Lit. Whether you would like to attend part-time or weekend language classes, our highly popular language lessons offer the widest choice in London. Most language courses are taught at seven different levels and you can start anywhere from beginner to advanced.

Our tutors

Tutors are experienced and friendly, and you can choose from evening, day time or weekend language classes. We also offer early morning sessions and intensive courses to help you learn a language at a time and in a way that suits you best. In many languages you can take an accredited course, with national and international qualifications selected for their relevance to adult learners.
