    Interested in teaching lipreading to adults? This course covers teaching basics and leads to a national initial teaching award.







    This is a City & Guilds 6502 qualification: Level 3 Award in Education and Training. This course is for people who want to teach adults. Combine it with GT106, Lipreading Teacher Training Course, and you will qualify to teach lipreading in this sector.







    There will be some home study before each lecture block. There will also be 2 practical teaching assessments, in December 2022 (online) and June 2023 (at the City Lit in London unless there are Covid restrictions, in which case it will take place online.)

  2. Sign Language Teacher Training Course

    Are you deaf and fluent in BSL? Interested to teaching BSL? This specialist BSL teacher training course leads to a national teaching qualification and includes knowledge of BSL and the Deaf Community.







    The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is designed to give you the knowledge and confidence to teach in the post-16 education sector. This could be as a trainer in the private training industry or as a teacher/lecturer in further education.







    You will attend City Lit for lecture blocks over 8 sessions from 7th October 2022 to 10th June 2023.



    The hours are 10.00-17.00 Fridays and Saturdays.

  3. Lipreading teacher training course
    Course start date:  Fri 14 Oct 2022

    Location on this date:  Mixed Mode (Online and In Person)

    Tutors:  Lorraine Braggins, Anita Thornton
    Part-time 20 days spread over 10 lecture blocks







    This course will be a mixed delivery mode. Students will attend City Lit, Covent Garden, London for some of the teaching blocks and access some of the blocks online.







    You will attend lecture and teaching practice blocks on the following dates.



    2022: October 14th/15th November 11th/12th December 9th/10th



    2023: January 13th/14th February 3rd/4th March 3rd/4th March 24th/25th April 28th/29th May 19th/20th June 16th/17th







    If combined with a teaching qualification such as our GT105 Award in Education and Training, this will qualify you to



    teach Lipreading in the Further Education sector.

This two-day workshop is about developing key presentation skills and confidence when speaking to a group of people, whether it’s giving a formal or impromptu presentation, contributing to a meeting or taking part in a discussion.

    Debating involves generating persuasive arguments and communicating these effectively with your audience. Practising this skill will help you to develop your confidence in both delivering planned content and thinking on your feet, skills that are applicable to a range of situations such as presentations, meetings and interviews. This course is specifically for people who stammer and will provide a supportive environment for you to work on your speech and communication.
