    This course will help you get become confident in your everyday communication including reading and writing. We will focus on topics that interest you and use these to help you improve the key elements of reading and writing as well as communication skills to enable you to express your thoughts and feelings including in difficult situations. You will learn to how write whole sentences and paragraphs, use adjectives effectively, organise your writing, make notes and complete drafts, spell important common words, use punctuation correctly and develop reading and writing strategies most suited to you. And you will learn some digital skills including reading and finding information from websites. This course has no exams.

  8. Lipreading teacher training course

    This course will be a mixed delivery mode. Students will attend City Lit, Covent Garden, London for some of the teaching blocks and access some of the blocks online.







    You will attend lecture and teaching practice blocks on the following dates.

    2024: January 12th/13th February 2nd/3rd March 1st March 15th/16th



    April 19th/20th May 17th/18th June 14th/15th







    If combined with a teaching qualification such as our GT105 Award in Education and Training, this will qualify you to

    Ideal if you have achieved your level 3 or level 4 in BSL, depending on your BSL skills, and are ready to progress to Level 6. This course is suitable for you if you want to continue to develop your skills up to the appropriate standard at level 6 in BSL. This course will enable you to understand and use complex BSL in a range of work and social situations. By the end of the course you will need to achieve all 6 assessments to gain a qualification at level 6.

  13. Digital skills for deaf people: Introduction to Office 365: Word for work (Entry 2 - Level 2)

    Location on this date:  Online

    This course will give you the skills and confidence to create a well-written and well-presented Word documents. We will focus on how to create and write short documents such as letters and forms so you can format them correctly, arrange the text and layout appropriately and add footers and headers and other layout features. We will look at how to use tables, insert them into documents and format them. We will also practise inserting images and altering those images. Finally, we will practise printing documents so that the documents maintain their formatting and managing your files so they are easy to find. Throughout the course, there will be an emphasis on making sure your files are safe and private.
