    This short course is to make sure you are ready for the full GCSE Maths Foundation programme (AC201/AC205). It is also to ensure you know what to expect from the full qualification, its content and the commitment required for success in terms of time investment, dedication, interest and ability.   8. Getting ready for Core Maths

    Have you achieved maths GCSE at grade 4 or above and are now wanting to take your maths up to the next level without doing a full A-Level? Are you particularly interested in practical statistical analysis? Then Core Maths (level 3) is for you. This qualification develops your quantitative and problem-solving skills and will be valuable preparation for many types of work and qualifications that rely on understanding statistics. You will work on analysing data, maths for personal finance, estimation, critical analysis of data and models, probabilities, the normal distribution, correlation and regression.

    Do you want to improve your communication skills and become a more confident reader, writer, speaker and listener in English? On this course, you will develop all your English language skills so you can act confidently in the most important everyday situations inside and outside work.     Do you need to improve your everyday maths so you become more confident when making calculations with money, understanding figures, charts and graphs in newspapers or measuring rooms? This course will help you with the essential maths you need to participate, fully in society, make progress at work and solve everyday problems. You will learn about whole numbers, decimals and fractions and how to use maths to solve problems involving time, money and measurement.     Do you need to improve your maths to become more confident in problem-solving, analysing and making decisions at work and in your personal life? Do you want to prepare for Functional Skills Level 2 maths, but are not yet ready? This course will help you with all of the above and make maths come alive. You will see how mathematics is everywhere and you will develop the maths you need to participate, make progress and express yourself in today's society. You will work with whole numbers and decimals, fractions and percentages and recognise the relationships between them. You will work on problem-solving involving time, money and measurements, as well learn how to measure confidently and convert between units of measurement. You will be able to state properties of shapes, both 2D and 3D and be better able to interpret, discuss and comment on the graphs, charts and tables you see in newspapers, on the internet and at work.
