Stretch, relax and feel good! This course is suitable for those who wish to enjoy the benefits of yoga at a gentle pace. Alternatives are offered if a student finds any particular postures (asanas) uncomfortable.

Continue your development as you explore a range of exercises and acting techniques that will illuminate and enliven a variety of scripts and scenes. Consolidate techniques and deepen your understanding in a safe and supportive atmosphere.

Continue to refine and develop the gentle, graceful movements of T'ai Chi in classes designed to help you develop clear, powerful and effective practice. Build on your experience with more advanced sequences.

Come and play string repertoire in a friendly group, and develop your confidence in ensemble playing. Suitable for those who have been playing violin, viola, cello or double bass for at least two years, playing at Grade 3 standard or above. Please click the 'start interview' button to apply. This is to make sure we have a balanced array of instruments for our ensemble. Break week 27 May 2025.

If you play piano at around grade 8 standard, join one of these workshops to develop your playing by studying a wide repertoire, learning to make your own stylistic and interpretive decision under your tutor's guidance. Break week 28th October 2024.

City Lit's most advanced, regular classes are for advanced pianists, whether  performers or specialist teachers. This course is designed to continue to develop your technique, broaden your repertoire and increase your understanding of piano playing to the highest level.

If you play piano at around grade 7 standard, join one of these lively workshops to develop your playing by studying a wide range of piano repertoire, with a focus on technique, tone production, pedalling and performance skills.

Have you been learning English for a long time but your writing just doesn’t seem to be improving? Are you quite a fluent speaker but find formal speaking difficult? Do you feel ‘stuck’. This course will release you! You will focus on how to improve the structure of your writing both the whole text, paragraphs and sentences. You will work on understanding the grammar of the language, and the skills you learn to develop your writing will help you improve your more formal speaking whether this is for job interviews, meetings at work or giving presentations. This course is ideal if you have been living in the UK for several years, feel quite comfortable in speaking English as a second language, but lack confidence in your literacy skills.

Practise and develop your acting skills by rehearsing scenes in detail. Engage with the fundamentals of performance in front of a live invited audience in our John Lyons Theatre in the final session.

We will continue developing ballet technique through barre, centre work and allegro exercises. Suitable for those who have been practicing for some time and have a strong grasp of techniques and terminology.
