Try your hand at making beautiful, creative objects out of clay. Working in one of our ceramics studios, our friendly and experienced tutors will teach you a range of techniques to help you master the ancient craft of pottery. Our pottery courses take place during the evening, daytime and weekend, just remember to book early as these popular courses fill up fast!

  3. Ceramics: Earthenware, Saggar, Raku and Pit firing

    Exploring earthenware special affects using saggars, different clay slips, terra sigillata and burnishing using hand building and throwing processes. We will also be making up Raku glazes and clay bodies for use at the end of the course which will be the 31st March & 1st April, two days using Oxford University Kiln site, doing a range of firings : sawdust, pit firing and Raku.



    Learners must have some experience of making in clay.

  5. Ceramics: surface decoration on clay

    Working with paper stencil, block printing on unfired clay, biscuit and glazed surfaces, you will create pattern and images with slips, oxides, glaze and on-glaze enamels on simple mould forms and tiles.
