Enhance your portraits by uncovering what lies beneath the surface. Through demonstration and direct observation of the model you will examine proportion, rotation and the key anatomical structures of the head and neck that denote likeness.

Learn how Botanical Illustrators accurately depict flowers, leaves, stems and seeds - for the purpose of genus and species identification by Botanists and Biologists.







Work from both primary and secondary source material to create an array of illustrative work, including anatomical and/or decorative.

Procreate is an innovative digital drawing software taking the illustration world by storm! In this workshop you will explore a number of different techniques to create striking illustrations on Procreate.







Please note* you will need your own iPad with Procreate installed, and a stylus such as an Apple Pencil.

Take a sketchbook walk in Central London to observe, record and engage with the urban environment, both historic architecture, modern skylines, the river and parks. A thought-provoking workshop designed to tackle the challenges of writing about family life in creative non-fiction projects, and offer guidance on shaping personal stories into coherent, engaging narratives.

This workshop will introduce you to the culture and basics of origami, a central part of Japanese arts and crafts.



You will learn some introductory Japanese phrases, Japanese festivals and learn how to fold folk Origami pieces as well as origami decorations for Tanabata Star Festival.

Explore physical and non-physical techniques for self defence, developing your assertiveness, body language and more. Women of any age or fitness level are welcome to come and enhance their confidence.

Learn how to integrate the function of your feet more effectively into daily activities, performance or work. Find more support, strength, and springiness in your feet, and notice improvements in your posture, breathing and balance.



This course is delivered in-person at City Lit.
