Are some people susceptible to addiction? How do substances affect our central nervous system and emotions? How do you understand different addictions, ie sex, eating or computers? How is addiction treated? Discover the answers to these and other questions by looking at addiction - from disease theory to the more recent bio-psychosocial theory.

The course is for anyone with an interest in developing their self-awareness in cross cultural counselling. This workshop helps you gain an understanding of how to talk about race and culture in a respectful, confident way.

Do you have an interest in working with survivors of trauma or learning about its consequences? Explore complex interpersonal trauma such as child abuse, rape and sexual exploitation, domestic abuse, institutional abuse, professional abuse, stalking and bullying. Learn about the neurobiological and psychosocial impact of trauma and its long term effects.

Thinking of becoming a counsellor? Wondering about gaining a counselling qualification? In this short workshop, you will find out more about the career paths and whether counselling training is for you.

You will need to have completed a level 3 certificate in counselling skills course (minimum 145GLH) within the last three years to be eligible to apply. This two-year course awarded by ABC Awards qualifies you to practise as a counsellor.



The course fee is £2225, plus an upfront fee of £2374 payable at the time of your enrolment.
