Join our weekly dance and movement classes to improve mobility, posture, balance and coordination. Our aim is to inspire older men and women to get creative with dance and movement.

Develop your jazz musicianship, repertoire, playing and improvising. Practise ear training, study jazz harmony, learn challenging repertoire. For players with established jazz education at foundation level. Assessment for entry to this course can be arranged after you apply to music@citylit.ac.uk. Break week: 29th October.

Are you an experienced lipreader, confident in your theory, but wishing to keep up your skills with continued practice? Suitable if you have been coming to lipreading classes for a while and want to continue to be stretched.







This course will be taught in spoken English and not in sign language.

Explore the wonderful repertoire for mixed wind ensemble, developing your technical, musical and ensemble skills. You need to play an orchestral wind instrument at grade 5 standard or higher. Break week: 28 May 2024.

The UAL Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at City Lit is an exciting and challenging multi-disciplinary art, design, craft and media programme. This course aims to give you a basic understanding of Contemporary dance that is influenced by other styles. The course provides an understanding of the basic principles, techniques and style.

Come and play string repertoire in a friendly group, and develop your confidence in ensemble playing. Suitable for those who have been playing violin, viola, cello or double bass for at least two years, playing at Grade 3 standard or above. Please click the 'start interview' button to apply. This is to make sure we have a balanced array of instruments for our ensemble. Break week 28 May 2024.

A group cello class for those who have been playing for at least four years, and are at least Grade 5 standard. You will explore solo and ensemble repertopire, play in all clefs and in positions including thumb position. This course is offered every term. Break week: Tues 28 May 2024.

For pianists with around three years' experience. Improve your finger technique, coordination, phrasing, music



reading, and your confidence.

Build on your lipreading skills, practise your communication tactics and update your knowledge of relevant equipment and services. Suitable if you have practised lipreading skills at improvers' level.







This course will be taught in spoken English and not in sign language.

For experienced classical guitar players. Practise scales and arpeggios at grade 7 and 8, and fingerstyle versions of Baroque, Latin and contemporary music.
