This course will aim through a combination of teaching and participant discussion to provide some historical perspective and connect, evaluate and understand contemporary geopolitics, diplomacy and events in the region. Explore the art, artists and history of the Italian High Renaissance. This short course, delivered in Italian, will introduce you to some of the major figures in the history of Italian art. This module of 5 lessons will cover



Renaissance painting in Italy and each lesson will be devoted to a particular artist who is representative of their time. The course will be delivered online.

Improve your knowledge of Italian through reading short works of fiction and non-fiction. The selected texts will be chosen for their intrinsic interest but will also be used as opportunities for language study, allowing learners to learn new vocabulary and practise their grammar by being exposed to authentic Italian texts.

This course is for intermediate and lower intermediate learners of Italian (Italian 2 Upper and Italian 3 lower, or learners in their third or fourth year of studying Italian) who would like to improve their reading skills and learn new grammar and vocabulary through reading and discussing works of Italian fiction and/or non-fiction. The texts chosen may be in the form of easy readers to facilitate understanding. The chosen texts will be written in Italian, and discussions will be in Italian, though some English may be permitted, so learners will be able to stretch themselves and feel more confident about expressing their opinion and asking questions in class.
