Is there a God or are we just products of nature, and depending on our answer, what does that tell us about the way we should conduct ourselves? What do we even mean by meaning?! While we cannot guarantee any answers, the quest for meaning and the exploration of the topic lead to some of philosophy’s greatest thinkers and their reflections on this most pressing of issues.

This course is all about learning how to slow down the aging process by giving your body the nutrients it needs to stay strong and healthy, and avoiding the foods and drinks which damage health and accelerate aging.



Learn which foods and drinks slow down aging and protect your body from the diseases of older age, and which foods you should be avoiding. Gain a proper understanding of why some foods are so good for us, and why some are so damaging to our bodies. This is a relaxed and friendly class where questions are welcomed. It is packed with information and you should leave it feeling inspired to make healthier decisions about what you do and don’t eat and drink.



Nutrition to slow down aging part one, and Nutrition to slow down aging part two, are two separate, standalone courses. You can take both courses, or just one. Ideally take part one first, but it doesn’t matter if you do them the other way around.

Discuss a selection of novels written by women in contemporary British society. Focusing on the 21st century, we consider the concerns of fiction in grappling with representing the now. We will make links between literary texts and social context to consider how fiction might be influenced by and influencing the real world beyond its covers. Texts include Bernardine Evaristo's Mr. Loverman (2013), Jenni Fagan's The Panopticon (2013) and Ali Smith's Hotel World (2002).
