Ballet classes at City Lit are the perfect way to gracefully strengthen all your important muscle groups, whatever your age or ability. Our ballet classes take place in our modern dance studios in Covent Garden in the daytime, evening or at weekends.

Courses available both in-person and online

We offer a range of long and short courses allowing you to choose between online and in-person learning. All our courses are live, interactive, and taught by expert tutors.   1. Ballet Easter intensive: Swan Lake

    Strengthen your passion for and enjoyment of dance though the repertoire of Swan Lake.



    Danced to Tchaikovsky's beautiful musical score, Swan Lake has been staged by all major ballet companies. Following a short barre warm-up we will explore some of the characters and dance sequences from Act 1 and 2. The learned material can be showcased on day 3 of this course.



    Please note this course is for improvers, you should have attended regular ballet classes for at least 2 years and have good knowledge of classical ballet vocabulary.

  2. Silver Swans ballet intensive: beginners

    Our beginners intensive course will work on achieving improved balance, strength and flexibility as well as technical skills giving you the opportunity to further develop your technique and continue your ballet journey through friendly and supportive classes where you will learn dances (also known as variations) from a famous ballet.

    Silver Swans® classes have been specifically designed for the over-55s and the improvers course is suitable for older leaners with at least 1 year of foundation ballet or Silver Swans experience.
