This class is suitable for if you have completed module 1 or an introduction to lipreading class at City Lit. You will develop your lipreading and fingerspelling skills and build your confidence.







This course will be taught in spoken English and not in sign language.

This is a live online course. You will need:



- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.



- A computer with microphone and camera. (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook). The classes work best using a desktop device. Please avoid accessing the class using a tablet or phone as the screen size will limit your ability to lipread or join in with the class.

Your body and everyday objects can be sculptures - use them to create a piece of performance art.

Improve your vocal ability. Compose original group vocal pieces. Listen to music from different parts of the world. Perform to an audience.

A foundation course for students new to music making. You will discover a range of musical instruments and study the basic building blocks of music.

This course is for Deaf learners who already use sign language in their everyday lives and want to further develop their skills in British Sign Language at level 1.







You will be able to communicate in BSL in a range of everyday topics and achieve a level 1 qualification, accredited by Signature.

This course is FREE if you are a resident in London and your preferred language is BSL

Do you want to develop your communication skills to participate, express and progress at work? This course will use a range of techniques to teach you how to get ahead in work situations. You will be introduced to practical language, vocabulary and skills. You will learn through realistic activities that are based on various work situations. This course has no exam.

A class for students who have a recognised instrumental ability. Learn to play percussion instruments. Compose original music as a group. Listen and respond to group members. There are opportunities to perform your music to an audience throughout the year. This is a partnership class with the Royal Academy of Music. The group will be joined most weeks by students from the Royal Academy of Music.

For students with recognised drawing and painting skills. Build a portfolio of work, participate in a group project. There is an annual opportunity to show your work in an exhibition. Visit galleries and museums for ideas and inspiration.

Learn dance and movement skills. Create new dance moves and physical theatre pieces. Produce a dance piece for performance. Present your dance skills to an audience.

Share your thoughts and ideas on your favourite subjects by making a video or audio recording and posting it on Youtube or other social media. We will explore what people are saying and thinking on the internet.

This is a foundation course for students with an ability in art. In the art studio you will explore a range of art materials and equipment.

Explore ways to combine and collage using a range of materials including fabric, photocopies, found materials and painting to create contemporary art works.

Compose music with computers. Make music with keyboards and synthesizers. Upload your music to Soundcloud.



Present your work in performance.
