Ideal if you are at intermediate level playing your saxophone, can read and improvise, have some understanding of harmony, and experience of performing. Our repertoire will be pop, jazz and World music. Technical work on the instrument will be combined with solo playing, learning tunes, improvisation and musicianship training.

For graduates of drumming 1A and drum students with equivalent (10-12 lessons) experience. We will play and analyse classic grooves, and work to improve our co-ordinated independence in application of rudiments to the drum kit.

Your voice should be an extension of your character. This Saturday workshop offers accessible and empowering mind-body techniques to deepen your awareness and connection to your voice so that the message you give out is true to your intention.

We will study time, form, root movement and harmonic progression, chord types, intervals, scales and modes. Learn transcribed solos and participate in playing sessions. For players with a working knowledge of harmony and instrumental proficiency beyond grade 5. Please contact music@citylit.ac.uk to arrange to be assessed for entry to this course. Try more difficult tunes and conventions with more practice at 'comping' and improvising. You will need a working knowledge of jazz harmony in order to develop your playing on this course. Ideal for graduates of jazz piano 1.

Are you curious about reading literature from across the world? Would you like to encounter some of the world’s finest literary works, reading across cultures and national borders, and in translation? This in-college session will give you a flavour of what it’s like to study and explore what global literature is, reading excerpts from major works.

Gain the practical and theoretical skills necessary to provide sports massage therapy. Recommended for practitioners who would like to work in sports and active leisure. You must have completed the ‘ITEC massage diploma’ or equivalent and be confident working independently.

If you can play a range of chord shapes, in time, and can follow chord symbols, this second year of guitar study will develop your ability to play the acoustic instrument. Improve your musicianship and expand your song repertoire.

Welcome to the second year of drum class: work to improve your coordinated independence and application of rudiments to the kit. Includes reading drum notation. Break week: 1st November.

Develop your effectiveness as a communicator on this fun but intensive Saturday afternoon course, delivered in the college. You'll learn powerful self- presentation techniques and life skills -chiefly aimed at business people but all are welcome.

This course is perfect for those who are new to Ballroom dance or looking to brush up on existing skills. Taught in a friendly and supportive atmosphere you will learn the basic steps and techniques of both Ballroom and Latin dance. No partner is required to join the course. You will perform with different members of the class, acquire some great dance knowledge and with the added benefit of feeling healthier!

The improvers classes are created for those who already have a basic knowledge in dance or have completed the beginners course. Here, you will be taught new steps and techniques as we polish and really perfect your existing skills. The main aim of the course is for you to continue to learn and develop your new skills whilst having fun and growing in confidence.
