Relatively new to writing poetry? This inspiring course offers an opportunity to experiment with language and a variety of poetic devices alongside fellow emerging poets. Discover the key elements of a poem in a friendly and interactive class.

For pianists with around three years' experience. Improve your finger technique, coordination, phrasing, music



reading, and your confidence.

This class is suitable for if you have completed module 1 or an introduction to lipreading class at City Lit. You will develop your lipreading and fingerspelling skills and build your confidence.







This course will be taught in spoken English and not in sign language.

This is a live online course. You will need:



- Internet connection. The classes work best with Chrome.



- A computer with microphone and camera. (e.g. a PC/laptop/iMac/MacBook). The classes work best using a desktop device. Please avoid accessing the class using a tablet or phone as the screen size will limit your ability to lipread or join in with the class.

Develop your singing journey and explore your voice in the third year of our training programme. These classes will further advance your singing voice and musicianship skills through a selection of technical exercises and songs from a variety of genres to suit all musical tastes. Break week 30th October 2025.

If you have pop piano training or equivalent keyboard harmony skill, come and tackle the easier end of the jazz piano repertoire. Our focus is the study of jazz harmony and voicing, interpretation of a lead sheet and good timing. To benefit from this course you need to play piano at grade 5 or above and be fluent playing major and minor scales.

A workshop class for singers with a solid foundation in vocal technique and musicianship: employ your vocal technique in a more flexible and artistic way and deepen your understanding of critical evaluation of singing. Repertoire to be discussed with the tutor. Break week 29th May 2025.

Develop a range of technical skills on the flute in this intermediate-level course: technique, sight reading plus playing solo and ensemble repertoire with your teacher in a group class. You should have one to two years' experience and play at grade 2 to 3 standard. Break week 30th October 2025.

Continue your study of singing technique and learn songs in popular music styles of folk, jazz, pop, rock, musical theatre. Live sessions online. Develop your musicianship, and add new songs to your repertoire. New students with experience of singing and some formal training are welcome.
