This is the second year of our beginners piano programme and repertoire will be of a pre-grade 1 standard. Improve your eye/hand coordination, your reading and technique.

Learn how to write elegant letterforms using a pointed pen with ink. Once you have learnt how to write a basic copperplate alphabet, we will begin breaking the rules of traditional calligraphy to find a style that is all your own. The course is suitable for beginners as well as improvers, and both left-handers and right-handers.

During the course you will develop skills in learning independently, communicating with your tutor and other students. You will develop your ability to use your own initiative, carry out research and complete tasks either independently or in collaboration with others.



The course is practical and the skills you learn can be used in everyday life situations. There are no exams to this course.

This short workshop will guide you through the basics of Modern Copperplate Calligraphy. Once the art form of expert craftsman, calligraphy is now a popular creative outlet, flexible enough to reflect the personality, style, and creativity of every individual. Learn to write for the screen on this practical, introductory course. Writing exercises, presentations and screenings will teach you key skills, and you’ll begin to produce work and an outline for a full-length project.
