    'Train the Trainer' is a practical 2 day course designed to help you gain ideas for effective facilitation and managing groups.   3. The City Lit 7-day intensive course for adults who stammer

    Learn strategies to help you speak more easily, work on becoming less sensitive and worried about stammering (also known as stuttering), reduce avoidance strategies and work towards saying what you want to say when you want to say it. This intensive course will enable you to make maximum progress in minimum time and will give you a solid foundation to continue to make positive changes following the course. It runs on these days (Fri-Sat): Oct 3-4; Oct 17-18; Oct 31 - Nov 1; Nov 14. We will also provide two video-conferencing (Zoom) group support sessions during the course, dates tbc.

  7. Sign Language Teacher Training Course

    Are you deaf and fluent in BSL? Interested to teaching BSL? This specialist BSL teacher training course leads to a national teaching qualification and includes knowledge of BSL and the Deaf Community.







    The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is designed to give you the knowledge and confidence to teach in the post-16 education sector. This could be as a trainer in the private training industry or as a teacher/lecturer in further education.







    You will attend City Lit for lecture blocks over 8 sessions from 6th October 2023 to 8th June 2024.



    The hours are 10.00-17.00 Fridays and Saturdays.



    The Free Courses for Jobs initiative is for Londoners aged 24 or over at the start of the course who are: on a low-income; or on certain benefits; or do not have a full level 3 qualification. For more information Click here

  12. Lipreading teacher training course

    Part-time 19 days spread over 10 lecture blocks







    This course will be a mixed delivery mode. Students will attend City Lit, Covent Garden, London for some of the teaching blocks and access some of the blocks online.

    2026: 9 and 10 January, 6 and 7 February, 20 and 21 March,



    17 18 April, 8 May, 15 and 16 May, 12 and 13 June







    If combined with a teaching qualification such as our GT105 Award in Education and Training, this will qualify you to teach Lipreading in the Further Education sector.
