Our Digital and Office Skills courses develop all your key digital and computing skills from beginner to advanced. You do not learn just the software but focus on the tasks and goals digital skills help you achieve whether analysing data at work or organising your photos on your smartphone.
You also develop the most in-demand common work and life skills such as problem-solving, analysing, decision-making, working together, attending to details and seeing the bigger picture.
Courses available both in-person and online
Whether you are a recently redundant manager, a carer returning to work, an experienced office-worker or a retiree, our digital skills courses will help you upskill, communicate more effectively, and become a more active citizen.
You can choose long or short courses, online or in-person, with qualifications or without.
No matter how you prefer to learn, we have the class for you. Most of our courses are FREE if you are on a low income or claiming benefits.

- Becoming confident with digital skills: on your computer and online (beginner)Course start date: Thu 26 Oct 2023 (and 3 other dates)
Location on this date: Keeley StreetAre you new to computers and the Internet? Do you need to increase your confidence with digital skills? This course will ensure you have a solid foundation in using computers and being online. You will learn the essential features of creating, saving, storing different types of files and documents, including photos and letters in Word. You will develop your internet skills to find information quickly and efficiently, and learn how to transfer this information to different documents and people. You will also learn the basics of how of how to use Zoom to host meetings and communicate effectively online. Finally, you do all of this while learning how to remain safe online and to keep your files secure.

Understanding and navigating your way round a smartphone is now as important as being able to use a regular computer. This short course will help you understand your Android smartphone, troubleshoot problems and use some of the most popular apps. By the end of the course you will be confident you can use or find out how to use the key features of your phone.

- Business administration: how to organise and manage with OneNote, MS Outlook and OneDrive (intermediate)Course start date: Thu 2 May 2024
Location on this date: Keeley StreetHow do you keep on top of your notes, to do list, tasks, meetings and ideas? Are you still using paper notebooks and post-it notes? Is there too much in your head cluttering your mind? This course will show how to use the digital notebook, OneNote, in conjunction with Outlook, and integrate both apps with OneDrive so you become an organised and self-managing administrator. You will learn how to take notes at any time and arrange them so you can always find what you are looking for. You will practise how to integrate Outlook and OneNote so you can organise meetings and share meeting notes and minutes easily and quickly, record the meetings, relate sections of the audio to tasks and action points for yourself and others, create to do lists, and link these tasks to tasks and emails in Outlook . In addition you will learn other useful tips on how to make the most of OneNote, for example to make calculations, translate text and edit text inside images. By the end of the course you will have clear idea of how to be organised digitally and have developed the necessary skills to put your ideas into practice.
