Become part of a radio repertory company and take part in creating and recording for broadcast a performance of a radio play. This term we will be performing scenes from Oscar Wilde's Importance Of Being Earnest. In addition, there will be a public performance of a reading of the play on Thursday 18th July. This advanced course is for those with previous experience in acting and radio, either through courses or industry. Flaubert est le contemporain de Baudelaire et, comme l’auteur de « Les Fleurs du mal », il occupe une position charnière dans la littérature du XIXème siècle. À la fois contesté pour des raisons morales et admiré pour sa force littéraire de son temps, il apparaît aujourd'hui comme l'un des plus grands romanciers de son siècle, avec en particulier « Madame Bovary », roman qui fonde le bovarysme, puis « L'Éducation sentimentale ». Il se place entre le roman psychologique de Stendhal et le mouvement naturaliste de Zola et Maupassant, ces derniers considérant Flaubert comme leur maître. Lui-même fortement marqué par l'œuvre d’Honoré de Balzac dont il reprendra les thèmes sous une forme très personnelle - « L'Éducation sentimentale » est une autre version de « Le Lys dans la vallée » et « Madame Bovary » s'inspire de « La Femme de trente ans » - il s'inscrit dans sa lignée du roman réaliste. Il est aussi très préoccupé d'esthétisme, d'où son long travail d'élaboration pour chaque œuvre : il teste ses textes en les soumettant à la fameuse épreuve du « gueuloir », qui consiste à les lire à pleine voix, parfois pendant des heures. On a également souvent souligné la volonté de Flaubert de s'opposer à l'esthétique du roman-feuilleton, en écrivant un « roman de la lenteur ». Enfin, son regard ironique et pessimiste sur l'humanité fait de lui un grand moraliste. Son « Dictionnaire des idées reçues » donne un aperçu de ce talent.

This short course is geared towards helping you produce Spanish sounds more accurately, as there are quite a few elements that require focus and practice. This course will allow you to concentrate on the sounds of Spanish - how to produce them when speaking and how to recognise them when listening.

Add dry needling into your therapy toolkit to effectively treat myofascial trigger points. This five day accredited training will enable you to safely and effectively integrate dry needling into your current treatment.

Whether you are preparing a Shakespearean monologue for audition or simply have an interest in their structure, rhythm and poetry, this course enables you to work on and speak monologues from the Comedies with confidence. There is also an opportunity to rehearse duologues/ scenework from Comedy of Errors and As You Like It specifically. This term the course is held at the college with an opportunity to practise speaking text in the open air.

This is a follow on course from 'Instagram for business: intermediate' and is designed to help you understand the new changes on Instagram and decipher where to post content on the platform.

Skills include establishing rapport, assertive posture and gesture, vocal energy, projecting an effective personal style, sensitive listening and communicating with care and conviction.
