Explore the wonderful repertoire for mixed wind ensemble, developing your technical, musical and ensemble skills. You need to play an orchestral wind instrument (including saxophone) at grade 3 standard or higher. Break week 29th October 2024.

This improvers course will focus on expanding existing knowledge of ballet technique and vocabulary and is designed to enable you to learn and execute more varied and complex movement sequences. There is an emphasis on delivering ballet technique to facilitate healthy joints, flexibility, movement quality and core strength.



Silver Swans® classes have been specifically designed for the over-55s and the improvers course is suitable for older leaners with at least 1 year of foundation ballet or Silver Swans experience.

For experienced saxophone players, come and extend your technique, musicianship and performance skills in this advanced workshop. The emphasis will be on playing jazz, pop and World music, solo and as an ensemble, developing musicianship skills, and improvisation.

Join our weekly dance and movement classes to improve mobility, posture, balance and coordination. Our aim is to inspire older men and women to get creative with dance and movement.

The UAL Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at City Lit is an exciting and challenging multi-disciplinary art, design, craft and media programme. It is designed to give you the best possible introduction to a wide range of materials, techniques and processes, and to support you in identifying and developing your creative interests and thinking. Validated by the University of the Arts London Awarding Body, it is an internationally recognised qualification with a UCAS tariff that enables you to apply directly to University.



The course fee is £5421, plus an upfront fee of £0 payable at the time of your enrolment.

Our aim is to inspire older men and women within the community to get creative through dance and movement, and to inspire others through performance. An ideal opportunity to flex both mind and body in this uplifting creative experience where you will get the chance to explore and discover your creative potential through dance and performance.

This fourth year of our piano programme begins with repertoire of a grade 2 standard. Improve your hand co-ordination, musical phrasing, reading and finger technique, and improve your confidence.

The work you do at the ballet barre is the foundation for all the other work you do as a dancer. Improve your strength, balance and coordination. Not suitable for complete beginners.

Continue your singing journey and explore your voice in the second year of our training programme. These classes will further develop your singing voice and musicianship skills through a selection of technical exercises and songs from a variety of genres to suit all musical tastes.

This course aims to give you a basic understanding of Contemporary dance that is influenced by other styles. The course provides an understanding of the basic principles, techniques and style.

These sessions can be taught at any level and are designed to help you improve your BSL. You can ask your teacher to give guidance on specific areas of BSL. This can also be used to ‘brush up’ and practise before assessments and exams. If you are on one of our BSL courses and wish to undertake further practice in your own time then this course is for you! Please contact the department for further details and to discuss your requirements. You will then be assigned one of our BSL teachers to work with you.

Refine, stregthen and challenge your pointe work. With expert guidance you will gain greater confindence and build on your technique as we explore more complex combinations at the barre and in the centre. Working safely and with correct alignment are at the core of what we do so to get the most out of this course you should have attended regular ballet classes and pointe work for at least 12-18 months.
