City Lit offers performing arts courses in the heart of Covent Garden in Central London during the evening, daytime and at weekends. Explore our range of subjects including acting, dance and voice, speech and communication as well as a full range of music courses, such as piano and singing.

Our courses are labelled clearly for beginners or those with previous experience and you can speak to a specialist tutor in advance to help you choose the right level should you require help and advice.

  1. Stage management and technical theatre production

    The core session times are Mondays and Fridays 18:30-21:30. Sessions will increase to include Sundays 11:00 – 16:30 from the 1st March 2020 onwards. This is to work in line with the CL Theatre company rehearsals. Individual call times may vary but 100% attendance is required whenever you are called.* Please note attendance at required Sunday sessions will be dependent on the technical role that you are allocated within the tech team. You will need an ability and willingness to have some flexibility.



    This course will give you an excellent introduction to what is involved in Stage Managing a theatre production. You will also gain insight into lighting and sound. Following some preliminary practical sessions, you will go on to develop your skills while working as part of the student technical team, supporting the CL Theatre Company show. This is a unique and excellent opportunity to gain ‘hands on’ experience. This course is suitable for beginners or those with some previous experience.
