Do you want to know more about Western classical music? Explore selected topics and key works in Romantic and modern music on this informative 10-week course. Ideal for people with no specialist knowledge. NB: Break week 31 Oct 2024.

Practise and develop your acting skills by rehearsing in depth scenes from contemporary plays or a whole short play. These will be performed in the college's John Lyons Theatre to an invited audience at the end of the course. This course is suitable for students who have completed a broad range of our acting courses at beginners and improvers level or who have gained suitable experience elsewhere.

A friendly, intensive class, with live guitar accompaniment, that focuses on the confident execution of Flamenco dance with pleasure, passion and panache. Performance opportunities throughout the year. These classes are suitable for those who have danced Flamenco for at least a year.

Our improvers class is an exciting new dance class for people over 60 who would like to engage their body in a more challenging and dynamic manner, to further develop their skill and knowledge of dance cultures.



We aim to improve stamina, coordination, balance, confidence and musicality. The class will consist of a mixture of exercises and dance sequences set to great music.

For pianists with around three years' experience. Improve your finger technique, coordination, phrasing, music



reading, and your confidence.

If you play piano at around grade 5 standard, join one of these workshops to develop your playing by studying a wide range of piano repertoire, with focus on technique, practice and performance skills. NB: no class 30 May 2024.

An exciting and rigorous one-year part-time training in the core disciplines of acting. Taught by industry professionals, this course will build your craft as an actor and is ideal for anyone intending to enter full time training at drama school.



The course fee is £2225, plus an upfront fee of £525 payable at the time of your enrolment.



If you are unable to pay the course fee upfront, you can choose to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan from Student Finance England (SFE) to help cover the cost. We will focus on developing ballet technique using barre, centre work and allegro exercises. Suitable for those who have completed at least one year of our beginner's ballet classes or equivalent and have a good grasp of the basic techniques and terminology.

Continue your development as you explore a range of acting exercises that will illuminate and bring to life a variety of scripts and scenes. Consolidate skills and techniques, and deepen your understanding in a safe and supportive atmosphere. We will focus on ensemble and group scenes this term.

Join us to explore the history of opera over three enjoyable terms. In this first term we’ll explore the ideas that fuelled origins of opera and the wonderful world of Baroque opera seria. NB Break week: 31 Oct 2024.

Discover the pleasure of playing in small, mixed instrumental ensembles, one per part, in a variety of repertoire. For classical instrumentalists at grade 5/6 or above. Due to the demanding nature of most piano parts, pianists should play at Grade 8 level or higher. Good sight reading skills and experience in chamber music are required. Break week 23rd May.

If you have pop piano training or equivalent classical keyboard harmony skill, come and tackle the easier end of the jazz piano repertoire. The focus is on jazz harmony and voicing, interpretation of a lead sheet and good timing. You'll need to play piano at grade 5 or above.

Transport yourself into a joyous frame of mind and festive spirit as you sing through some of the most beautiful settings of medieval carols. Explore harmonic textures, musical interpretations, get technical tips for tricky corners and enjoy singing these wonderful pieces with others!
