Welcome to the third year of drum class: work to improve your coordinated independence and application of rudiments to the kit. Includes reading drum notation.

For graduates of drumming 1A and drum students with equivalent (10 lessons) experience. We will play and analyse classic grooves, and work to improve co-ordinated independence in application of rudiments to the drum kit.

Are you a non-native fluent speaker who wants to improve your pronunciation of English and to speak the language more clearly and confidently? Work on clear formation of vowel and consonant sounds including the English neutral vowel and the distinction between voiced and unvoiced sounds. This term the course will be taught online.

Designed for students who have completed 'English Pronunciation' stages 1 and 2, and those who have near native placement. Conversation and the reading aloud of a variety of texts will help to pinpoint those pronunciation worries still to be addressed when speaking English as a non-native speaker. This course will be taught in the college.

Discover the pleasure of playing in small, mixed instrumental ensembles, one per part, in a variety of repertoire. For classical instrumentalists at grade 5/6 or above. Due to the demanding nature of most piano parts, pianists should play at Grade 8 level or higher. Good sight reading skills and experience in chamber music are required. Break week 23rd May.

Designed for people who have completed ‘English Pronunciation: stage 1’ although new students with sufficient skills can join. Develop confidence and clarity, explore diphthongs and triphthongs, inflection and the rhythms of Standard English. This term the course will be taught online.

A unique and excellent opportunity to gain ‘hands on’ experience in one or more areas of technical production in theatre. The course introduces all aspects of mounting a theatre production including stage management, lighting and sound. Following preliminary practical sessions, you will develop your skills while working as part of the student technical team, supporting City Lit Acting Diploma's production of The Crucible. Suitable for beginners or those with previous experience.

Do you want to be an actor but find it hard to fit the training around your other commitments? This intensive and practical accredited course, running two weekday evenings each week, provides classes in the core disciplines of acting, voice and movement, and culminates in a showing of contemporary scenework to an invited audience. Successful candidates achieve the Level 2 Certificate in Performing Arts awarded by OCN London.

A wonderful opportunity to be part of a theatre company working alongside an experienced professional director and a team of techical theatre students to stage a play from scratch in six weeks. Use your previous practical training in acting in the context of the performance of a full production in the John Lyons Theatre at City Lit, giving four public performances.

A performance class for singers who have completed Sing jazz 1 and 2. Develop and maintain your vocal technique, jazz and blues style, presentation of repertoire, and learn relevant musicianship.
