  1. Level 6 in BSL - part 1 (language development)

    Course Date: Wed 16 Jan 2019

    This course is the language development part of the level 6 in BSL. Ideal if you have passed level 3 in BSL and you want to develop your skills up to the appropriate standard for progression to a level 6 qualification. Develop and establish fluency in your use of BSL in a variety of situations and registers, in both productive and receptive skills.

  2. Level 1 ECDL award in IT user skills for Deaf people

    Course Date: Wed 16 Jan 2019

    Are you new to word processing, spreadsheets and presentations? Join this course and learn how to use the most important basic features of Word, Excel and PowerPoint 2016. This course will give you the confidence to use the programs independently as well as follow your studies to a higher level. By the end of the course you will have improved your skills and gained a qualification, Level 1 ECDL award in IT user skills.

    This course is FREE if one of the following applies:

    a) You are employed and earn less than £19,890. You need to have lived in the UK or EU for the last 3 years and be a citizen of the UK or a country within the EU. You may also be eligible for this funding in other circumstances. When you come for assessment or enrolment, bring a pay slip dated within 3 months of the course start date, or a current employment contract that shows your gross salary.

    Or

    b) You are either on Jobseekers' Allowance or Employment & Support Allowance (WRAG). Please bring proof of income to your assessment or enrolment.

    Or

    c) You receive other state benefits (including Universal Credit), earn less than £338 a month (individual claims) or £541 a month (household claims) and are doing the course to become employed or move into more sustainable employment.

  3. Level 3 certificate in BSL

    Course Date: Fri 11 Jan 2019 (and 2 other dates)
    Location on this date: KS - Keeley Street
    Ideal if you have passed level 2 in BSL and are ready to develop the knowledge and skills you need to achieve the level 3 qualification, accredited by Signature.

    The course fee is £1211, plus an upfront fee of £188 payable at the time of your enrolment.

    If you’re unable to pay the course fee upfront, you can choose to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan from the Student Loans Company to help cover the cost, repayable after the course ends. You can find more information about the Advanced Learner Loan www.citylit.ac.uk/advanced-learner-loans

  4. Public speaking in the workplace for people who stammer

  5. Youth work: level 2 certificate

    Are you interested in working with young people in a youth work setting or becoming a youth and community worker? This course will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence in working holistically with young people to facilitate their personal and social development. As a youth support worker, you can earn up to £180 per day, depending on the organisation. You could be involved in one to one support, mentoring, sports or group and project work.

    This course is FREE if one of the following applies:

This course is suitable for those working in and those looking to work in a range of roles or careers such as housing support, employment advice, counselling and peer mentoring.
