What is the course about?
Suitable if you have completed Welsh 3: module 1. Improve your Welsh language ability in this communicative class. The emphasis is on the practical use of Welsh and the development of your listening and speaking skills. .
Please note that there is no class on 25 February.
What will we cover?
We aim to revise part of units 26 - 30 of Cwrs Sylfaen and to cover units 1 - 5 of Cwrs Canolradd (published by WJEC). Topics will include the conditional, discussing what you would, should and would like to do; revision of comparative adjectives. Discussing the news; asking a favour and polite requests. The emphatic construction; making plans for the future.

By the end of this course you should be able to...

-ask for favours
-use the emphatic constructions
-make plans for the future.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
Level 2. Suitable if you have studied Welsh for about two to three years recently, or have completed Welsh 3: module 1, or have equivalent experience.

You will also need to be able to respond to simple instructions and read course documents in English and be at ease with the use of number for daily activities (e.g using money, telling the time, etc).
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
The course is based on the communicative approach:
- active students’ interaction
- emphasis on speaking and listening skills
- pair and group work
- role plays
- use of realia, pictures and authentic material
- use of audio-visual techniques when appropriate
Please note, students are expected to participate in oral classroom activities and to do some work at home.

This term, we will finish Cwrs Mynediad and will start on Cwrs Sylfaen: Llyfr Cwrs (De), Authors: Mark Stonelake, Emyr Davies, ISBN: 9781860855184. There is a North Wales version of this book. Price approximately £20.
Homework will be set from Pecyn Ymarfer (Practice Pack), ISBN: 1 86085 528 8. Price approximately £3.
