You’ll learn how to deliver great reads from the inside out. It’s not just about the sound of your voice!

Study how to improvise in popular music. These practical sessions are for players of any instrument. Get to grips with improvisation in this exploration of common scales and approaches to improv in pop, rock, blues, folk and jazz. We’ll look at blues scales, pentatonics, extension notes and more to help you get the most out of your improvisation.

Have you ever thought you could cut it as a TV presenter, but been unsure where to start? Discover your TV presenting potential. Learn how to present to camera, read autocue, memorise a piece to camera, interview and talk to time. All this in one weekend!

For experienced saxophone players, come and extend your technique, musicianship and performance skills in this advanced workshop. The emphasis will be on playing jazz, pop and World music, solo and as an ensemble, developing musicianship skills, and improvisation.

Come and play string repertoire in a friendly group, and develop your confidence in ensemble playing. Suitable for those who have been playing violin, viola, cello or double bass for at least two years, playing at Grade 3 standard or above. Please click the 'start interview' button to apply. Our ensemble for proficient jazz players to improve and maintain sight reading and section work, playing music from the classic era of Big Bands plus contemporary and original arrangements. Jacques Lecoq’s style of theatre training is in the body, it involves exploration of ourselves and the world we live in with a sense of curious play. Lecoq revolutionised the format of theatre craft and his style and techniques are recognised as essential tools to any professional working actor, in its most basic or grandest of themes. It is a style that hugs you warmly and sticks with you, adaptable and diverse.



The Lecoq technique is about the performers engagement, listening physically and their connection in the space, working together as an ensemble, devising your own work and finding new ways to do it are essential.

This next term of our advanced course is an opportunity to practise all the essential popular grooves we have tackled. Enhance and maintain your technique, reading and stamina. Sessions will be delivered online so you will play your own kit, acoustic or electronic.

If you have pop piano training or equivalent classical keyboard harmony skill, come and tackle the easier end of the jazz piano repertoire. The focus is on jazz harmony and voicing, interpretation of a lead sheet and good timing. You'll need to play piano at grade 5 or above.

Engage all your senses to connect mind and body awareness while singing. Explore how the psyche affects how we relate to singing. This is a practical course in the classroom for singers in all styles, not an academic study. no class on 12th October.
