Learn in the centre of London with our in-person courses. Our purpose-built facilities in Covent Garden mean we are ideally located and easy to get to.

    With guided listening to music forms, and singing, you will study time, form, root movement and harmonic progression, chord types, intervals, scales and modes. Learn transcribed solos and participate in playing sessions. For players who have completed terms 1 and 2 this year, and new students who have studied jazz in this way.

    For saxophone players with 2 years of experience, who read music, and have experience of performing. Develop your sound, technique, music reading and musicianship. Emphasis on popular music and jazz in a group class, and includes practice at improvisation.

  4. Jazz harmony and ear training 2C

    If you already play jazz and can recognise intervals and 7th chords in sequence, extend your aural, harmonic and rhythmic skill through the study of jazz standards and improvisation. Our sessions involve playing as an ensemble. New students who wish to join this 3rd term are welcome to apply to music@citylit.ac.uk.
